Finally we are finishing the boring classroom training and beginning on the water training tomorrow. Today we did everything to get ready for a trip as if our brigade were a crew. We started out in the morning in the commissary packing all of the food we need for our 5 day swamper. Then we went to the bay post and got all of our crew gear like stoves, pots, tents, packs, etc. Then in the afternoon, our brigade leader acted as our interpreter, and we acted as a crew. He took us around doing all the check-in stuff that we will have to do when we get a crew. After that we began to plan our route. The route we planned will include about 75 miles of paddling, a river, and a couple scenic overlooks of waterfalls. Tomorrow we finally get on the water to practice our paddling techniques and all the different strokes.
Here are some crew pictures of my brigade: Dogtrot.
